I know it’s Memorial day weekend so I thought for those of you that will be at BBQs or at the beach where you can get a bad
burn (there’s no such thing as a base tan, you will still get burned if you do not use sun block.)
The lighter your skin, the more often you need to reapply! No matter what the SPF is! no matter your skin color or tone, use the highest possible SPF and alwayes be sure that it protects against UVA & UVB rays. You should apply before going into water as that is where you will get burned. (I usually never get a sunburn, but the times I have, I was in the water) Also make sure you do the tops of your feet (you do not know how HORRIBLE it is when you have burned feet!) and ears besides your nose ad cheeks of course.(Though for a little color I do like to get a tiny bit of a burn no my cheeks)
As far as the aloe goes, it is soothing but sticky you are best to use a spray.
My Sun burn soother is Noxema which we always left in the frige and damn does it feel good going on! It has been my go to sun burn relief since I was a baby! Noxema is also good to help clean make up off as well and you get a nice cooling sensation. If you start applying the Noxema right after your first shower or bath be sure you use it while you still ahve water in the sunburn places to help hydrate your skin further and drink LOTS of water as your skin has been sucked dry.
Of course besides my Noxzema Those Aloe Vera Cubes sound nice, THe Witch Hazel, The Cucumber as frankly it is soothing but you might want to mix them up together in a spray bottle with some water.
For those of you that would like to see some product suggestions
If you can find this it’s nice & cooling and may help with the burning and itching, but not moisturizing.
I have some others noted in The ‘Spring into Summer skin Body Care” You can find that in the Menu bar above under the Original Beauty Balm.
Check back each week to see if I’ve added anything else
