Tea Tree Oil

My favorite Shampoo is this Tea Tree Oil one I always see at supercuts. So one time they had travel sizes and even though it was $5 and Tea Tree Special Shampoo 10.4 fl ozchange I think (maybe a little less) I bought it to try as I had the green tea treatment done there once and Loved how it felt.

Tee Tree Special Shampoo (pick your own size/price)

I love how it feels as it makes your head tingle and feel nice ad cool and most important….CLEAN! I use this to wash with every other washing or once a week if I have to wash a few times. (every other to every 2 days)

Besides your hair, tea tree oil is a multipurpose everyday product.

Dry Shampoo

With the summer here, and running from work to the beach or a party with barely time in between to get home and shower. Or when you are trying to preserve a coloring, perm or straightening.. Dry shampoo is a good way to keep your hair clean without over shampooing. (a real shampooing every other to ever 2 days is better for your hair.)

*all links are to amazon for your ordering convenience (unless otherwise noted) as well so you can see other versions.

Years ago I came across Batiste Dry shampoo which was a spray. I can’t remember where i purchased it or how I found out about it but its great for after the beach, work day, workout and so on. I even keep it in my overnight bag for when I stay over someone’s house. (I have long hair, I don’t want to clog up their drain.)

Oh yeah and now, there’s a variety of scents to choose from. I’ll have to see if I can find the tropical one.

Here’s the regular size 6.73 oz can  &

a pack of 3 travel (purse) size

While once the one type (out of the UK) was good, you can’t keep others fingers out of the cookie jar. Other companies jumped on the bandwagon with not just sprays but Mists, foams, powders and sheets.

All four of those types are used for different hair types.

Herbal Essences Dry Shampoo 4.9 OzNORMAL Hair

Mist  – Lightweight mists disperse protective ingredients like antioxidants for instance.

Herbal Essences White Strawberry & Sweet Mint Dry Shampoo, 4.9 oz

OUAI Dry Shampoo Foam - 1.5 oz. Travel SizeDry Hair

FOAM- formulas cleanse, sans dust which can be drying and moisturizes with conditioning ingredients

This one for my tastes is expensive, even if I did have dry hair I likely wouldn’t use it.

Oily Hair

Sheets- great for travel, gym bag (just as the others are well maybe not the powder)  and mess free. The sheets eliminate tell tall grease at the roots throughout the day without having to pile on product!

Nunzio Saviano Dry Shampoo Blotting Sheets  $22 for 50 sheets

Powder – nonaerosol powders typically have larger particles and therefore thicken better than mists.

Briogeo Scalp revival charcol + biotin dry shampoo

OMG I complained about that other price.. this is a 1. something ounce and its $24!!!

but then again oh wait you save a couple on Amazon.

I bought a Dry shampoo powder and it was a nice coconut scent. I by LUSH $8.95

I jsut don’t recall if its one of their vegan products as most are. You can call and ask 1 888 733 5874 (as well as to place and order)

In case it is not..  There’s Drop Dead Gorgeous Shampoo for brunettes and blondes.

Spread it evenly  through your hair with a Scalpmaster Shampoo Brush.

I’ve been using these brushes for everything for years, and my cat loves them too! She brushes herself with my old one. Shampooing, conditioning and dry shampoo. Even getting an even amount of product (hairspray or gel depending on the style.)

Happy memorial Day ~ Sunblock season!!!

I want to take a moment to wish you a Happy Memorial day weekend. I hope you get to chill & Grill.

And as a daughter, Niece, and granddaughter of veterans and have many cousins in the military

a moment to Thank and  remember those who served

I wanted to take this moment to help you out with some fun in the sun care.

Man my nose looks big there.

Many think that you just put sunblock on once or twice and you’re good for the day, WRONG!

I may not burn out of the water but no matter what I put sunblock on throughout the day.  While I have Neutral to

Olive tone skin, on the beach I put on at least a 30 or more block EVERY hour (one reason I likely do not burn). Now if I go in the water (which seems to be the only time I do burn) I put more on even if I applied just 5-10 minutes ago, even if I use the sport sunblock which is supposed to be waterproof. Those of you with fair skin, you need to apply at least every half hour and use the maximum SPF you can find.

Another thing is, no matter what skin you have… you need to find the BROAD SPECTRUM  (which protects against both UVA and UVB rays. Think of it this way…UVB is what makes you burn, UVA is what ages your skin.

Also don’t use the stuff from a dollar store, Yeah it’s a great idea to pick up an extra in case you run out but I’d rather get another one of a trusted brand like Neutrogena, No-ad (a no frills brand), Banana Boat, or something from Hawaiian Tropic.

You don’t know what its made with, how  old or effective it will be and I re-blogged this by someone last year about what happened to someone who used the dollar store brand.

I’ve herd all the beauty magazines, dermatologists etc say You are not supposed to use last summer’s sun block, and to buy a new tube  really every 6 months. (If you only use it during the summer, then you are not supposed to use it the next summer as it may be ineffective in it’s job.)

For me, it depends on where I have it stored. As long as it’s away from the heaters, and not in the bathroom  but in a cool dry play you may get a few more months out of it, like if you bought it at the end of the season. Also I keep my block in my purse as there are days you can just feel when the UV index is maxed.

Natural Loofah Exfoliating Bath Sponge by Spa Destinations™ (3 PACK of 4" Loofah) "Creating The In Home Spa Experience"™ 100% Money Back Satisfaction Guarantee! Great Value! My Sun care starts before I go in the sun, well before even going to the pool or beach or in what should be this summer’s case.. on the boat!

I not only use a loofa which many seem to think those stupid mesh shower puffs are a loofa! They are no where in the same category. A loofa is a natural  sea sponge which exfoliates skin (so you get a more even tan)  wash in a circular counter clock-wise  motion until your skin gets a pinkish tint (almost as if you got light sun burn color.) That way you know the dead skin is off, and you will get an even tan.

I highly suggest using a loofa before you shave! It will get those hairs you can see just below the skin, but are not quite out yet. When I don’t use a loofa or pumice stone before I shave being I have dark hair it looks like I didn’t even shave!

In the 90s after I would shave I’d  rub baby oil all over my legs, before drying off, then I’d rinse some of it off. They would be so soft, one of my guy friends couldn’t keep his hands off my legs. Heck when I do it now (I use the baby oil with Aloe in it)  I love how soft my legs are!

Before getting out of the shower I rub some baby oil in everywhere while I still have some water on me to lock in the moisture. usually I try to make it enough (yet little) that i don’t need to rinse off. Say a quater size amount for each arm, leg and torso. If you want to use on your face just use what remains on your hands as well as rub into the backs of your hands!

Here’s another option which looks like a face cloth & here are round facial ones

My favorite POST sun beauty tip…. (I’ve done all my life)

Leave a bottle or tub of Noxema moisturizing cream  in the fridge

(or if you can find it Lander original Skin Cream the label must say Cool refreshing  removes  oil)

We put this on us if we get a burn (after our showers) it keeps peeling to a minimum if there’s any at all.

To Prevent Sunburn

add to tub   (but you should STILL use sublock)

1 TSP applecider vinegar

1 cup water

Yogurt with live cultures and NO fruit

aloe vera and Vitamin E

Sunburn face

Smash apricot or

thin slices of cucumber will help rehydrate

Already Peeling skin?

Keep Mosquitoes Away

FRESH thyme or Basil

Citronella oil

Bee/Mosquito Bite

Honey + Ice

Baking soda + Water

7 ways to spot a fake designer handbag

Now where some have shoe collections, I’m a purse collector! (in a sense) I get rid of mine slowly and then when I do I end up missing them so I don’t just get rid of them that easy.

Honestly If I only had 2-5 purses then I might understand having one expensive one for dates, family gatherings etc. (Or just the ‘perfect one’ for the spring/summer, as I only have about that many purses for that time of year.) I need a bigger sized purse as I usually carry around my kindle fire, and if not then a book and a note pad, besides the wallet, a pen and a few other items. (Honestly for me it’s the smaller things that make it heavy!)

If you are like me, You really don’t care if you have a designer bag, but in my travels, it looks like everyone has one.

One year I came across a yard sale and saw a  cool ‘Patchwork’ Coach purse (never saw one like it) and a hard shell Louis Vutton
tote. I checked them out a bit, and unlike past fakes I had seen and when I’ve looked in the actual stores to see what the linings, tags etc looked like. I thought these were real!!! The Louis Vutton tote even had the wallet in it! So I got the 2 purses and wallet for $20! (Images included are a close likeness to those I found)
